Overfiltering is usually not a problem, but it seems a bit much IMO

SO the turtle doesn't get stuck? She's pretty big though..

If it increases in price I won't buy the big one. Cause 112 dollars + shipping sounds like a very good deal...

That doesn't matter, making sure the strainer stays on is.

Some people make their own or glue it together.

I'm not sure I have a picture saved but it sort of looks like a spray bar but made from PVC pieces.

I want something that's like the real sun but without the heat because I had a thing were mercury vapor light got water touched it and it exploded... So I am looking for a strong light that just produces high amount of UVB but won't explode ......
On top of that... What's a bulb that keeps its uvb output for longer than 30 days? APparently a lot of the bulbs loose their power after that...

Be careful with that approach (wanting to provide the highest amount of UVB). I'm not an expert by any means, i'm just cautioning this approach without doing proper research

Also, Steve replied with "Reptisun 10.0 tubes are well regarded."

I"m looking into UVA/UVB lighting do's and don'ts and i came across this..... http://www.uvguide.co.uk/phototherapyphosphor.htm
It specifically mentions this web forum.... "We began a serious investigation of these reports in April 2007 following an alert from one of the organisers of a popular hobbyists’ website forum in the USA, http://www.redearslider.com, where members had become very concerned following a spate of problems in turtles across the USA. "
And also mentions, specifically the Reptisun 10.0.
I'm not saying this website is perfectly reliable, but it may be worth some extra consideration and research when choosing the proper light for your turtle or other pets.
