Tomhit, that vet sounds like a nightmare! Nonetheless... you should DEF call another vet and ask about injecting an oral formula. Many meds require something be added before they are injected into the bloodstream. I can't remember about baytril (I used to work for a vet, but that was for dogs and cats anyhoo)... but PLEASE don't be tempted to inject orals! Can cause stinging, pain, and make your turt sicker, if it isn't formulated to blend in with the bloodstream. Just a little tip. :)

Thanks kiki. I'm not going to try and inject it. I got both of them to take it orally now. Just had to be very persistent! :)

That was completely uncalled for, not to mention unprofessional! I would have been furious, and she's damn lucky your babies are ok!

Glad you were able to get them to take their medicine. How are they feeling?
I like their names too

Yes, I was quite furious. Luckily my wife was next to me. She is able to calm me down quite quickly. I wonder if that woman even went to school at all.

They seem to be doing quite well. They're eating everything I've offered them pretty much. Haven't seen them nibble on the cuttlebone much yet, but everything else they chow down. I haven't seen either of them open their mouth to breathe in a couple days and they're spending much more time in the water swimming around now.

I finally got out the tape measured and actually measured them. They're a little bigger than I estimated, but next to Crush and Squirt they look tiny. I'm currently on the watch for a good deal on a 140-160 gallon tank that Crush and Squirt will graduate to, then Spike and Donny can have the 55 gallon. Then everyone will have more room!! Well, except Ashley and me. LOL
