One of my turtles is developing white lines between the scutes of the its shell. It is especially apparent under water. Is this just normal scute shedding?

This means your turtle is growing. The seam (line between the scutes) becomes wider and takes on a whitish/greyish white color. It is especially noticeable in the water. At some point, shedding scutes will follow. :)

this happened to my turtle. It depends on how big your turtle is. Mine is only 1.5 inches. The lines went away after a while but there is still a bit of gray left.
