Initially, I named my turts based on their personalities. Tommy was more aggressive and Sincere more tentative.
Now for some reason the roles have switched. It was so funny, I caught Sincere, the smaller turt snapping at Tommy
when he swam in front of him; something Tommy used to do. Now, Tommy's more cowardly and follows Sincere like
he's tryin to "get in his shell."

So, I caught Tommy tryin his best to do this with Sincere:

They are just babies, is the "Turtle Dance" more of a mating
thing, or is it something else. If so, I got some horny turtles yo.

Also, will this help me determine the sex of Sincere
since Im fairly sure Tommy's a boy, or do 2 male turts do this too?

For your case, its probably a territorial thing.

Yeah and in that case you will have to watch for aggression..if anything like 'biting' comes to play, then you will have to seperate them.

If they are babys, then you cant tell their sex.

Male turtles can flutter at each other, females can do it to each other as well. It's more of a display of dominance (who's the boss) than anything. You can't determine the sex of the turtle by who's doing the fluttering.

WOW, i had no idea. I've just seen attempted fluttering
from Tommy, but no biting from both, Sincere just swims
away. Thanks all.

Keep an eye on them. Aggression will probably escalate as they get older.

As for gender, you can't tell that right now. You'll be able to tell when they get to be about 4".

Agh. I hope they can continue to get along, they've been
together since the beginning. One thing I like to do is keep
them active and not pent up in the tank all day everyday.
For instance, if you check out my pics on WebShots, I take
them out occasionally to move around for an hour. Sometimes
I take them outside to get some natural sunlight. Or, sometimes
I'll just take ONE of the turts out of the tank to play.
So, I can completely understand the logic of being in a space with
someone for a long period of time; applicable to both animals and humans.

How do u tell the gender of babies(turtles)? they r 2 inches

You can't.

You have to wait until the shell lengths are closer to 4 inches.
