General Care Discussion :: R.I.P. Candy

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Post Posted: Sun Aug 19, 2007 5:23 pm   R.I.P. Candy

Im so f-n mad

Yesterday, I was gone for about 12 hours. Before
I left I fed my turts. When I got home I just fell
asleep. When I got up this morning I noticed Candy
was GONE. I thought maybe she was hiding or blending
in with the rocks. NOWHERE to be found, no way she
could have gotten out. I came to the conclusion she was
eaten by my freagin turts. There aren't any
noticeable tracings of Candy in the tank, but I do see
some small clear particles flying around in there.

--SIGH--

My turts are BABIES. How could this have happened?
If I was here I know they wouldn't have done that, but
just....agh. :x

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Ummm, what's species of creature was Candy?

Almost anything living you put in your tank - and sometimes inanimate objects - will become snacks for your turtles eventually.

It's a fish. It's supposed to help keep the bottom of the tank clean.

Did you look under all the hides in your tank? They are really resourceful hiders. I'm really sorry that she's gone :(

oh ya, pleco's are a favorite of Spike's. He's eaten the small ones and the big ones. I never get attached to the fish I put in the tank. And I only put fish in the tank that have some nutritional value for the turts.
