General Care Discussion :: turtle white spot

My turtle has a tiny white spot on the shell. The turtle is about 1 inch and is doing perfectly fine. She swims around and eats well. But she doesn't bask much, and she is scared when i go by her. Also...she is not shedding yet. And there is gray stuff that won't come off between her shell pieces. I really want to know what the white spot is and what the gray is too. I will try to post a picture soon. ( it is really hard to take pictures of her because she is always moving and my camera sucks!!) Thanks for all the answers!!

The gray you're seeing is probably the seams between the scutes. The white spots could be anything.

Is the grey area more of a line? Is it more visible in the water? If so, that's the seam, and it indicates that your turtle is growing.

For the white area (and the gray area if it's not what I just described), take a picture of the shell when it's dry.
