I just noticed there is bright green stuff growing on the bottom of my tank. Will my pleco eat this? He doesn't seem to be eating any algae anymore :(

Is it hard or soft algae?

I notice that I mainly get algae when there are a lot of fish in the tank. I don't have as much of a problem with it in my turtle tank (which has no fish).

It is soft and looks almost slimy. It is in the turtle tank. I bought the pleco to take care of the aglae problem but when I bought the pleco the algae was brown and "hairy" he ate all of that and now there is this bright green slime looking stuff in there. I think he is eating it but I wanted to make sure it wasn't dangerous to the turtles.

Does UVB light promote the growth of green algae? I remember before I used my UVB tube I never seen algae grow in my tank, but after I start using it it start to grow everywhere :(
