I have had David and Johan for about 3 months and wanted to see if their growth looks normal and if they look healthy. Any comments would be appreciated. This is David. Image

David has slight pyrimiding witch means he has too much protean in his deit. Johan is growing too fast as you can tell by the seam betwwen his shell

They look fine to me. Looks like they'll be shedding soon though.

I don't see a problem with them either. The seams are wide, but that's growth, which is normal for hatchlings. How much have they grown in the 3 months you've had them?

What are you feeding them, how much and how often?

I had David for 3 months in which he grew about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch and I have had Johan for 2 1/2 months in which he grew maybe a little bit more than a 1/4 inch. I feed them 5 reptomin baby pellets each a day and sometimes I will only give them 2 pellets each and give them carrot or their favorite pear to add some different vitamins. Is celery any good for turts?

Celery is just filler, it's not worth giving to them. There is no nutritional value. Go with lettuce instead.

They look great and turtles do grow different than others. My 2 smaller turtles I had since they were born 2 years ago in the same tank same food same parents are about 2 inches different in size. I give them blood worms as a treat and they love them. Plenty of crude protein, fiber and fat. To be honest I never heard anything bad about blood worms and turtles but since I have 4 fish tanks also I gave them to the turtles.
Raising turtles is very rewarding..

Pyramiding is caused by too much protein in the diet. Do a search on the site for "pyramiding" or go back through some threads in the care forums.

Camaro: The bigger turtle could quite possibly be taking more of the food which is why the other is so much smaller. Blood worms are fine as long as it's just occasional.
