I found two large scutes today :P
I never had him do a shed any thing like this just shows are far hes come. :wink:

I found these two in the water.

EVERY single scute is peeling this is normal right?
I took him out just for a couple minutes and they all started to peel.

Looks normal to me. When he gets older, the layers will be very thin -- nearly translucent.

Perfectly normal (and it looks like he's going to have a really good shed :D).

When they're really loose like that and you take them out of the water, the scutes will really start to lift. One of my Eastern Painteds has three marginal scutes in the back of his neck that start to lift like a collar when he's dried off and has been basking for a while.

My RES is nearly 6 years old, and the imprint of the pattern on his shell is still faintly visible on some shed scutes.
