Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

So i bought algae discs for my pleco, and my RES has seemed to take a liking to them.
He munches it up and then the pleco comes over and cleans up the mess.
Is it bad that he is eating these?

All things in moderation. As long as he's not eating a lot of them and his belly isn't getting upset, they should be okay. Some members turtles eat the algae discs before they touch green.

my turtle likes those too.
I actually give them to him a a treat once in a while. I thought I read on here someplace that other people do too. It's sooo cute, he carries it around and he looks like a dog with a frisbee! So far, no upset tummy either.

Same with my 3 they love them. In the wild they eat it all the time plus it's another source of greens for them.
Raising turtles is very rewarding..
