I will be gone for a week this summer. What can I do for the turtles while I'm gone?

Best thing is to have a neighbour or friend to check in on your turtles and feed them a couple times. Even if they could pop in once, and throw in some food, that'd be great.

If you can't do that, you could throw in a couple guppies/minnows, and some fresh lettuce and perhaps some other veg, and they'd be OK for a week.
You'll want to have all your lights on timers too, if they're aren't already.

Turt-tales -- I have used an automatic fish feeder that dispurses every 24 hours and does a good job with pellets. You have to do a little trial and error with what ever pellets you use. It over feed my larger turtles as I feed them every other day. Good Luck! This is my way. Make sure you have the water level up a little as it will evaporate! m.

Try to have someone check on them. Does the room where they are get really warm? If so, I'd be concerned about them getting too warm...

I try to keep my turtles' tank water a bit cooler than most people, but if the water temp starts climbing into the 80's, I'd be lowering the temp. Too warm temps for extended periods of time (like the week TurtleTales would be away) aren't good.
