I use reptomin pellets and Sy LOVES red leaf lettuce and dandilion greens. I also just discovered (they were talking about it in another thread) this frozen turtle food called "Aquatic Turtle Diet" by "HealthyHerp". I got it at Petsmart in the freezer. Sylar LOVES it, and I give him one a week in place of pellets that day. It is kinda a mess, but I have a killer filter, so I don't mind.
It's a good idea to feed your turtle CUTTLE BONE too. You can get it in any petstore, in the bird section. You just have to chip off the hard back part before you give it to your turtle. The first few times I put it in Sy's tank, he looked at me like"what the HELL is THIS?!" But now he loves the stuff, he chows down on it so hard I can hear him across the room! And its great for them, it gives them calcium for their bones and shell. I ALWAYS have cuttle bone and lettuce available to him.
I tried strawberries, and it made for a cute picture, but he didn't really eat much of it at all. What Sy, and from what I have heard, most turtles LOVE are Blueberries. Its high in sugars, so he only gets them occationally, but I love to give them to my turtle, because it is just SO MUCH FUN to watch him try and eat them!!! he bites it and it shoots across the tank and he chases it down untill he rips it apart! But while he's chasing it, he looks like a tiny soccer player, head-butting the ball! SO CUTE!
