General Care Discussion :: Turtle needs a home:

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Post Posted: Sat Jul 26, 2008 7:09 am   Turtle needs a home:

I have had my red ear slider for nearly 16 years. Unfortunately I am moving out of state shortly and have no option but to re home him. He lives in a 90 gallon aquarium at the moment. I am looking for an experienced turtle keeper and ideally would like to adopt him out to someone with a pond, at the very least a large aquarium. Anyone in FL interested?

What a long time to have a turtle! Why is it that you can't bring your RES and the tank with you to your new location? It's a shame that after so many years you can't keep him.

Hi.After so many years it is going to break your heart to give that turtle up!! There must be a way that you can take him with you. Please don't make the mistake I made and so many other people have done- giving them away!!

I'm relocating to either Boston or D.C. for law school. I'll be renting a room somewhere in one of these two cities. I don't see it possible to relocate a 90 gallon aquarium... I brought it down from central to south florida with me for undergrad, but I don't think it is possible for me to lug him and his home up the atlantic coast for law school, especially when I will not be renting a home, just a room. I know it is going to suck, I got him in the 3rd grade, 1993 and it breaks my heart to part with him, if I didn't have to I wouldn't, believe me!
