Do turtles normally sleep in the water on on their basking docks ? I ask because I almost got scared for a minute tonight. So it's lights out and I'm walking by my lil ones tank and I look in. He's sitting in the water on his plants but almost at a 45 degree angle with his head down in the water. I dont know if he was sleeping or just chillin with his head down but he gave me a bit of a scare.

Weird heh, I just looked at him/her again and he/she is like a quarter inch below the waters surface on the fake plants with the head tucked into the shell sleeping. Only thing sticking out is two feet I guess to hold onto the plants or something heh. But the filters in flow is movin him/her a bit and he/shes not moving.

On a side note I'll be glad when I find out if hes a she or shes a he this way I can stop the whole he / she stuff lol.

Mr. Turtle always sleeps in the water. I've never seen him sleep on his basking dock. :)

My turtles like to sleep in their half-way submerged log cave. That way they can easily poke their noses up to get air. I have a mirror by that side of the tank so that I can check on them when they're in there. ^_^
