number one! Any suggestions for keeping my res from wrecking any setup i put in tank. It looks good then he just flips and smashs into everything like a bull in a china shop.

number two- how do i get my res he's almost 3years old to eat lettuce he has no intrest

1 - There's really no way to stop them. Just make sure you secure everything (use aquarium silicone if you really have to) that you're not okay with them moving around.

2 - Search the threads, there's a whole bunch of suggestions on how to get RES to eat vegetables. The short answer is... offer it everyday and/or you could hold off on pellets until they start to get hungry enough to eat it veggies.

How elaborate is your set-up (decorations, plants, etc.)? I've found that keeping it simple is best. Fake/plastic plants hold up much better than real ones.

For the lettuce, you could try to get the scent of something your turtle likes on a piece of leaf. "Marinating" leaf pieces in the water from canned tuna overnight has worked for some.

ive tried to put some things for my rosie reds to hide in like caves etc...
but he flips them also buried a bubble ring under a gaint rock that he made sure to push off so the bubble ring floats to the top..lol Then i have some fake plants that he flips and some river rocks

haha i have the same problem i have a little volcano in there and i have a female whos really strong i solved it by setting rocks against it....you could try aquarium silicone.
