General Care Discussion :: Noticed some algae on Bent's shell...

Hi, I've been noticing some small pieces of algae hanging off of Bently's shell. He is currently in a 10 gallon tank but we are working on his 90 gallon. He is about 4 inches long. I know- bad setup but my dad has been delaying this project for a while now. What should I do about the algae?

You can gently scrub it off with a cloth or a soft toothbrush. The key word is gently, since they can feel through their shell. A little bit of algae on the shell isn't a big deal, but if it accumulates too much it can prevent the shell from drying out completely.

just wipe it off. no big deal. does he have a basking area?

Thank you for the advice Bulldog and Daniel. He does have a basking spot and his upgrade is coming along nicely.
