General Care Discussion :: RES acting funny

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Yesterday and today my RES hasn't been very active. I seen him laying on the floor in the hiding spot with his eyes closed. My YBS is very active in the same tank. If I make noise on the screen top my RES will come out and see what's going on but will work his way back to the hiding log. Water temp 73-76, basking temps 89-93, room temp 71 degrees. He is eating fine. In the last two weeks I made an ATB spot and changed my substrate. Could this be stressing him? Why not the other one?

What was your substrate before and what is it now? As long as he's eating I wouldn't be too worried about it. If it persists I might turn the water temp up a bit.

Just guessing but could also be a domination thing... I mean you did say you have a RES and a YBS in the same tank. Also, how large is this tank theyre in and how big are the turtles ?
