Hey guys I am leaving on a trip.

I have some comets and roses for them to eat on while I am gone. I also have a some type of plant in there .

What do you guys think about putting cabbage in the tank while I am gone . Also i have a timer but it does not seem to be working. Should I leave the lights on or off . I am thinking about keeping the UVB light on , but cut off the basking light .

i wouldnt do the cabbage. its listed in the medium to high risk food. red leaf lettuce would be good though. you should go get a new timer. i would think that if the basking area isnt warm, they wouldnt bask and if they did they could get sick from it not being warm. how long are you going to be gone?

You can get a very decent timer from someplace like Home Depot or Lowes for around $5. That's what I've been usiing for several years and it's never let me down.

Rather than cabbage or iceberg, I'd leave a few collard or mustard leaves in the tank.

You can get a timer at any discount store or supermarket.

Haha funny! We went away for five days and had someone come in to feed them on the 3rd day. We also bought 10 small fish for them to eat in case they got very hungry. When our friend was there to feed them all the fish were still there and when we came home only two were gone! But as soon as we got back they started eating fish like there was no tomorrow. I take it as their way of saying "We've missed you!"
