I've been doing some search in the net an I saw something that made me really sad if I understood right...I found a website that they breed and sell some kinds of RES(and other turtles) like two headed res, Siamese res, shell less res,two feced res and other res with unusual colours and patterns..And some of them they sell them for 1000$..Is it OK to breed these kinds of turtles?I don't know if can post the link according to the rules of the forum. If you want the link tell me..

Please don't post the link. Any time a link like that gets posted, it'll move the site ranking up in a google search.

Whether it's right or wrong is more of a moral debate. Personally, I think it's disgusting and difficult to know that nothing is being done about these people

I don't know that they should go on "breeding" animals that are purposely deformed and can't function like normal animals. That just doesn't seem right to me. Why "create" an animal that can't function and exist the way it was intended to?

However, if there are deformed turtles that are born in captivity or captured, I feel like every creature deserves to be taken care of and loved, even if it is different or "odd."

Thanks. It may or may not be a hoax like that bonsai kitten thing (fake)... but I hope it is.

I actually had nightmares about finding all these underfed and neglected RES hatchlings in my house and some had been frozen and split apart. I woke up at 5:30 this morning and almost threw up.

On a lighter note, Annie, I envy your location. Greek food is my favorite. I can seriously put it away! :P

If it's the site I'm thinking of, it's already been banned from this forum. Meaning you won't be allowed to post the name.

I personally don't agree with the sell of deformed animals. I understand if you're trying to find a caring home for a special needs animal. But selling a turtle that probably won't even survive the flight to its new home is despicable.

I agree. Why breed things that are doomed to live a life of suffering? And then SHIP THEM?? What is the matter with people? There is a special punishment for people who abuse animals and other people.
