well, my turt deffinately loves things that move and change colour, so they can sence some sort of color i was told that they can see in colour, They have excellent eyesight in water and are supposed to have a keen sense of smell for finding food, my turtle loved it when i drew realy colorfull turtles and stuck them to the widow, he would bask and look at the pics for ages, and yes i guess they could watch tv.

Well, outside turtles can see you coming for quite a while, or at least feel your walking vibrations. I know my husband and me and a large female RES had a stare-down out at a nearby pond. She saw us at about 20 feet or more away.

If you walk alongside a pond or slow-moving stream in the summer and there are turtles sitting on a log in the water, they'll hit the water almost as soon as they come into your view, because they can see you coming. I'd say their ability to see something moving from a distance is excellent.

Not sure, but I thought I had the only silly turtle that likes to watch TV. At first I thought maybe he was just interested in the movement. We've had him 4 two weeks now and everytime wrestling is on he comes to the edge of his tank facing the TV and watches. We have been keeping an eye on him when other shows are on, like football, but they don't seem to hold his interest and American Idol just puts him to sleep.

i think the same, ive allways wondered why thier eyes are so beautifull, they have amazing eyesight...........allso when i put on cbeebies for my turtles (it sounds sad but its cute) they just wont stop gawping at all the shiny colours and listen to all the music, i think squirt isnt realy into the whole tv thing but rocky like most men love thier tv, i wonder if he secretly shouts for the remote............hmmmmmm also i have allways thought of their eyes as cameras with their own lenses,,,,,like a crocodile

They have keen eyesight for distance, but are somewhat nearsighted. They will be startled by sudden movement.
