Some of you may know, I joined this site a few weeks ago because a friend of mine had me "fostering" her two male RES in my kitchen and I suspected they weren't getting the right care. You can read more about there background in the "What Were Your Turtles First Doing When You First Saw Them?" sticky thread in general turtle discussion, but it was bad. I'm grateful for the information here.
The last update was that I separated the two turtles, decided to adopt the 4" one, and my friend had found a home for the 6" one. Well, it looks like that new home may not come through. So we're still looking.
On the off chance that any of you knows someone in Southern New Jersey or Southeastern Pennsylvania interested in giving this 6" male red ear slider a home, please let me know. Despite his far-from-ideal set up, he seems healthy and eats well. He's not shy and will bask right in front of me. Cute too -- his favorite position lately is sprawled out with his rear legs splayed out further than I ever thought a turtle leg could go! Sorry no pics, no camera. He is NOT good with other turtles and so far hisses when handled.
I'm moving cross-country in June and will take the other turtle with me, but need to find a home for this one by then.
Thanks for reading!
