Ok, I don't know if this is a stupid question or not...

am I supposed to leave my lights on my turtle tank at night?

Should they have set "night" times and "day" times?

I've only had my RES about a week and I'm still learning!

A question never be a stupid question.

Turtles also likes us, they need 'lights' for doing their activity and they need 'night' to sleep and rest.

I leave my turtles lights on 10-12 hours a day then turn it off when at night.

Mimic the daylight hours is the best. I cut mine on for a few extra hours when I want to enjoy them at night. Mine sink to the bottom and only come up for air during the night. They need their rest. M.

Yes, you can shut off the lights at night. They will get all the warmth they need from the water, as long as your water is heated to 75-78F
