General Care Discussion :: does turtle beaks grow back?

i was cleaning peanuts shell today w/ a toothbrush and peanut got angry and hissed at me and bit the end of the tooth brush hard. I noticed now that his beak seemed to have a chipped layer and im wondering if it hurts for him or will it heal eventually cause i feel so bad now i wasnt being more cautious

If it was just the edge bit, sort of like his "lip", I believe it grows back. You'll want to make sure his water is super clean, and keep an eye out if he stops eating or anything odd.

well its barely noticable and today i can't see the chip anymore and hes not acting wierd or anything so i think hes going to be alright

but just in case, should i feed him some cuttlebone just to help or should i feed him some softer food?

I'd give him his cuttlebone. Just keep an eye out for more beak damage.
