Freeze dried shrimp would be just a fattening snack. Get some Reptomin... good quality pellet.

I recommend Reptomin or Rep-Cal, in addition to the feeding list described in the "Feeding and Nutrition" section.

Dried shrimp isn't a very healthy protein, and those pellets I mentioned come with much healthier proteins that your turtle will enjoy more.

For a small hatchling, if you can find it, get some Reptomin Baby---it's a smaller size and has a bit more calcium in it than regular Reptomin. Don't know if you have a Petsmart where you are, but that's where I buy it.

Don't forget to try some other foods as well. Hatchlings like live food, so occasionally giving some pieces of earthworm is good as well (as are crickets). Having some anacharis in the tank is good as well, small ones like to rest on it as well as nibble on it.

dmb-ter Reptomin is a good all round food. It is a little short on calcium but that is all. Give veggies once or twice a week and you are good. Do not over feed. It is easy to do. m.

I have found that my RES really like Reptomin the best. I also give them some calcium by giving them some cuttlefish bone.
