my baby turtle wont bask , i dont think he likes the heat, he is 1.5inc

You said in a post last Thurs. that you just gotten him a few days previously, so perhaps, he's still too skittish to get on the basking area...

What kind of basking area is it? Is it easy to climb on?

Whats the temp of the basking area (88 - 90F is good). Is there a UVB light?

Does he have privacy? If not, you could put a barrier around the outside of the tank on the end where the basking area is.

its a turtle dock, he hasnt got fully up on it yet
the temp is 90 , and i have a 5.0 uvb light, he doesnt have much privacy, i am thinking about putting him in the 40gal tank in the laundry room where no one goes, ill put the bigger turtle in the 55 gal.
p.s i am doing what u said for the tail, and its beginning to look a bit better. thanks
