Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Currently Im Using Cold Tap Water to Fill my tank. I Recently Found it was "Hard Water" and Needed some conditioning. I just purchased "Nutrafin Aqua Plus" from Hagen. Is this safe for RES's? Or Can it Lead to Harmful effects on them?
Also If I can Use it, Should I let the solution Sit in overnight? or Just go ahead and Put my RES in there?

From the description of it, the product basically removes chlorine, chloramine and heavy metals from the water as well as adding substances to benefit fish. This is fine if your tap water is treated with chlorine, etc. It should be fine for your turtles. I'd just follow the directions for the proper amount to add when you change the water in the tank next time.

As far as I believe, adding that water conditioner will not soften your water.

New-O I am not sure the conditioner will soften the water. You can use partial distilled water with your hard water or you can use RO water which takes out most of the minerals. I use all three when doing a water change. m.

I'm using aqua plus right now. It is safe for RES. You don't need to let it sit over night after you've added the conditioner. Sometimes I let the filter stir the water around a bit first just a for a couple minutes, to make sure the conditioner is distributed, but sometimes I just let them in immediately.
