General Care Discussion :: do turtles sleep underwater?

my turtle keeps sleeping underwater. wont he drown?

he's a small turtle in a big pond. he has his own rock that he can get out of the water with. but he keeps sleeping underwater. I'm not sure if he's having trouble climbing the rock. i'm afraid he'll drown in his sleep or sumthing.

aqua-ban -- Turtles do sleep under water however they do need to get out to bask. Water temp should be between 75 and 78 degrees and the basking should be about 90 to 91 degrees with uvb lighting. m.
