General Care Discussion :: This will probably be dumb

Alright I'm so new to owning two RES hatchlings, I was only going to have one but I was worried Rouge was going to be lonely so I have Mint as well who belongs to my boyfriend.

Okay my actual question/worry is, IF i get fake plants will they chew on them and potentially swallow something and choke or die?

I have one fake plant in there and I have a live plant in my tank, Hornwort, but I'm really worried about putting something in there they could potentially hurt themselves with.

Most times they would bite on something can see they can not eat it and leave it alone. However , personally I just take out all fake plants.

They can bite off bits of plants. Speaking of my turtles only, they've never swallowed any. They usually just accidentally bite off a leaf in an overzealous attempt at a pellet. Make sure there are no little bits that are easily bitten off, and watch them carefully after you put a fake plant in.
