Meet our Gurgles..."Barack" and "Obama" This lends no indication to our political affiliation in case any of you are red staters and are wondering.
Background:
We've had 2 males for over a year, they are going on 3 (adopted from someone who could not keep them) They are in a 50 gallon tank filled half with water. There is a flatrock ramp that leats to a brick island under both a heat lamp as well as a UV lamp.
Observations:
One definitely flutters at the other but pretty much gets ignored. They are rude over food, but no worse than me and my brothers were. Then, just last week was their first aggressive incident. A real melee that resulted in one latching on to the others elbow and not letting go. That lasted for about 10 minutes (the latch on) and then it was over and they've been fine since. We have not seen any such act in 1 year and 4 months. Should we expect more aggression as they get older (as is typical?) or might they be able to coexist till they are old men?
