To me then it looks kinda soft since you can squeeze it like that. I don't think you are but if you are then that's bad, real bad.

Vitashell is not a good product. Also avoid over handling your turtle -- it's only a hatchling, so no need to add stress to it.

Is there a reason you want to use vitashell?

Can you get a q-tip and wipe off that white (which I assume is the Vitashell)?

Also, it would be better if you didn't hold him that way---it would be better to have him on your palm so he as something solid under his feet, and use you other hand to keep him from running/falling off.

By "hump," do you mean the raised area down the spine? If so, that's not unusual in hatchlings. It will lessen over time as he grows and fills out.

I don't see a problem with the shell from the pics you posted.

I'd get rid of the Vitashell.

T-boy9 -- Mar-mod is correct in holding your turtle. They are more comfortable with you holding in the palm of your hand. When they are that small it is not good for their health to take them out often. They cool off too quickly. Steve is correct with the vita-shell. The carapace needs to breath and dry out. You have a nice looking turtle.

Yeah it can stress the turtle out if you just let it air swim.

Also I seen a turtle like that in a pet shop and he had a huge hump on his shell right in the center of the top but he was HUGE and seemed 100% fine with it and everything.
