I recently found out my turtle has eggs inside and has been displaying all the symptoms that it wants to lay them.
I have provided a large area of soil, a shallow container of water and a heat lamp yet the turtle refuses to lay there, all it does when in the container of dirt is try to escape, I have now put a smaller container in which the turtle can crawl to and from when its in my room wandering around (filled with dirt) yet it expresses no interest it in
I saw it today digging with its back legs in a laundry pile on the floor, I immediately picked it up and put it in soil but then the turtle freaked out and just wanted to escape
Anyone have any tips or ideas on what I can do to induce her laying the eggs? For the next month she will be taken care of solely by my mother who is scared of her and will only feed her and do partial water changes (which would be great if the turtle didn't want to lay eggs!) I only have a week left with her and would like this process to be done with asap so I can rest easyand feel ok not taking care of her for this while and know that she will be ok as well
I have looked online but have not found any helpful information, so anyone with any stories on how your turtles lay their eggs would be great helpful information!!!
