General Care Discussion :: Looking for answers on shedding

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I believe my turtles are starting to shed. I will be posting some pics later today but I have a couple questions about shedding.

Is it normal for both turtles to be shedding at the same time?
How long could this process take?

I noticed they shed some skin around their necks a couple weeks ago and now the shell. Now it seems as if they are not basking as long as they used to, normal?

It is hard to find any information about shedding or pics as to what shedding looks like. In the pictures I have seen, every turtle has had a different look.I will try to get some pics posted soon.

Yea looks like shedding to me.

If your got both your turtles as hatchlings at the same time there growths should be about the same so you will see shedding around the same time.

thanks guys. this is the first time we have ever had turtles so there are a lot of first times coming along! I was kinda concerned that it could be a fungus but I guess everything is cool.

Does anybody know what the ph level for the tank should be?>? Mine is at 7.8
