General Care Discussion :: skin shedding?

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Hi all -

I am a new RES owner and I have my 2 baby turtles for since late February... anyway, one of them is growing faster than the other one, it seems. Also, one is not as active and swim around alot...he sits on the basking platform ALOT. His appetite varies from day to day (some day he eats more than other days). Anyway, in general, they seem to be doing fine.

My question is, I have noticed what looks like their skin is shedding...do they shed skin and if that's normal?? the little trail of think, translucent "skin" is from their neck, etc... Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
