Today after cleaning the tank I held my turtles one at a time. First I went for slow poke cause he's the tinest... Remember awhile ago I wrote about his weird spot on the bottom oh his shell, well its deffinatly thin. I could feel it move when I held him so I decided not to hold him that way and hold him from the sides of his shell but he kept trying to run and he's a strong little guy so I put him down, he was scared anyways and he swam away. Then I went after speedy and held him ( he's like 2inches while slow poke is like a inch big) and his shell felt so nice and thick and strong. Looks strong aswell. He was so much more calm. His tucked his legs in and had his head out and just looked at me. He didn't seem to like it when my 3 year old approached him, he started to tuck his head in, then when I wnt to put him back in the tank he opened his mouth, I don't know if he was going to attempt to bite or what that was about. My fiance said he didn't realise how big speedy was already. He's grown so much in the past 2 and a half months since I had him.
Slow pokes spot on his shell does look better then when I got him, he's also gotten bigger and he's not scronny like he was when I got him, he looked so sickly when I got him, I swore he was going to die. I just hope his soft spot will go away so I don't have to worry so much about him getting hurt.
Anyways just thought I'd drop in and tell you how my little green babies are doing.
Oh and I put 5 guppies in their tank about a month ago and 4 are still alive and they had babies I only ever seen 2 babies in there but now their is one, whose getting pretty big.
I was thinking of getting a sucker fish because the tank gets lots of algea, what kind do u recomend? I don't really want it to get eatten.
