A month old (difficult to know if you don't know when he hatched) is rather young to be shedding. Is he growing quickly? If so, what is his diet? How much is he fed at a feeding and how often?

You needed do anything for shedding. Just make sure he has ample opportunity to bask.

I took some advice from a fellow member by subtracting a week from the day i got him. He basks alot anyways. As far as ggrowth he has grown not very much maby 1/8 inch in shell legnth maby 1/10. im feeding him approx. 10-15 pellets a day. And if i dont ill give him that 1-2 rosey reds. So i think hes decently fed :)

wow yeah, 10-15 pellets does sound like a lot. If he's 1 mo. old he's probably only an inch or two?

That's a lot of pellets for such a young turtle, even if you're giving Reptomin Baby...

10-15 pellets is to much for a baby RES. Not even my 4 inch RES eats that much.

As what I've read so far, a huge chunk of people like to feed their turtles by estimating the amount and comparing it with the size of the turtle's head, amirite? My baby RES are just 1.6 and 1.75 inches and I just give them 3-5 pellets a day, because I used to feed them 10 pellets a day and I noticed some small lumps in the front of their carapace (i think if I continue feeding them 10 a day it might cause some pyramiding) and some flab coming out on their hind legs when they tuck them in.

wow! thats alot of pellets, I feed my 3 or 4 inch turtles, 3 wardley pellets a day.
your turtles will always beg for more, that doesnt mean you should give in.
I say put your overweight turtle on a diet, give it a 2-4 pellets depending on the pellet size.

A 1.6 and 1.75 inch RES should only get 3, 5 is still too much for them.
