Things just keep going wrong for me. I haven't been active much anywhere. Here, youtube, etc.. I dont post deaths of my turtles usually but man this has been the worst summer ever. I think 5 of my turtles died and I do take them to the vet and spend the money just to have them die... Im so depressed with all this. So finally after like 2 months everthing is good my medium to small sized turtles brought in for the winter as the adults outside for the winter. i finally decided to get back on track with my youtube channel and show off the dbts I showed you guys months ago.
So start filming and go to show off the second DBT and its near intake in the stocktank. I grab it and it dont come and after a few second I knew it was caught and i just say oh sh**, drop the camera, unplug filter and get turtle out of water. I thought it was dead there was no movement and for some reason i picked up camera again and showed and just said omg no its dead(turned it off now)..... I rewatched what I had on my camera this morning, obviously no one will see this.
Anyway The turtle then takes a gasp and im like omg its alive and then I have to rush just to try and get it unstuck. First i had to clean the plant material and stuff from the inside and around it to see. It was worse then i thought. Its front and back legs got caught in the inside then they had swelled to 3 times the size. I used needle nose pliers bend the intake enough to release both claws.
So all ive done it just brought him inside and let him rest on basking dock away from heat kinda and put neosporin on his legs. I desided not to take him to the vet because I thought he was dead and with no strength anything they would do my be to stressful and probably kill him. So this morning when I went down he was in the water swimming and his back leg looks good the swelling has almost gone completely away. His front leg has gone down but still pretty bad, I think thats what got caught in the first place as it looked the worse. So now ive made an appointment for today. Not sure whats gonna happen with the fron of his foot sigh =/
Im still not sure how it even got caught really. I been using same filter intake for 3 years now. The turtles have climbed over a million times and never got caught and he isnt the smallest turtle either....argh. Im sure there are lots of spellign errors but im not gonna reread for mistakes.
Here is photo from video of it caught.

This morning and how his feet look. They looked blood red yesterday, much improvement. You can see skin is torn away.
