General Care Discussion :: Is ZooMed good turtle food?

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

My RES is 3 1/2 years old, I have been feeding her ZooMed 6 months+ big pellets. She used to eat a lot, but in recent a few months her appetite has been gradually reducing,. Now she only eats once every three days, the volume of each feeding is dropping too..... Is she sick of it? Can turtles be fed up with a certain type of food? I still have some left-over ZooMed small pellets for baby turtles, she refuses to eat that. But her overall condition is fine, doesn't look sick at all, alert and energetic...

maybe try different foods. im no expert but my res is new to me and wouldnt eat anything at first bc of the environment. but i made jello shots and she tore it to shreds. i tried soaking the pellets in tuna water too but that was when she wouldnt eat anything. i have zoomed brand too...givea variation of fruits and veggies. Seri goes crazy for krill too.

Maybe it's getting a little stale....is it from the same container? You can try a different brand as well. Perhaps it's the season change too.

Some of my turtles get more picky about eating as the weather cools.

Zoo-Med pellets are pretty much standard fare, but I never could stand the smell. My turtles never really cared for them either.
