Hey all, I think my RES is pregnant, her and her mate have been doing the mating dance since November since I got the male, and I was wondering how I would know if shes ready to lay? The male is always on her back and still always tries to mate, I am all new to this kind of this stuff, so any information about this will be great, thanks.

Anyone got any information about the male turtle keep trying to bite the female turtles back legs? He's never tried to do this before and im getting a little concerned now, thanks

Turtle aggression can get pretty serious. You might need to separate them.

There isn't no wounds on her, he is biting everything in the tank not just her legs

No offense, but if you can't answer those questions on your own, then you shouldn't be breeding them.

An overly aggressive male must be separated from his tank mate(s). That's the only consistent solution that will work.

I totally agree..your going to have to research yourself..go t google and tyoe in RES breeding...allot to find out. Good luck

i know its been a while but thanks for your help i separated them straight away and now my female is laying eggs and i have researched about everything they are doing very well thanks again
