General Care Discussion :: every morning... turtle goes crazy!

my tank is right next to my bed, so when he sees me wake up or get out of bed, he FLIPS out, and starts splashing water everywhere. I feed him every morning, then he calms down.

Is this normal? Is he happy? is this because of extreme hunger? or is the turtle just happy to see someone is alive in the same room

That is called the sun is up now get out of bed and feed me you lazy human. My turtle does that to. It's called begging. Be careful not to let him talk you into giving him to much food and making him a fat turtle. It's perfectly normal

If I were you, I would see this as, "HEEEEY GIT OUT OF BED IT'S MORNING! I LOVEZ YU!!!"
But that's me. Brixie doesn't recognize me as the food giver yet so she doesn't flip out yet.

My turtles start begging when I'm in the next room. It's annoying because I don't want to get up early but there's no way to stop all that splashing sound.

More than likely you startle him when you move around when getting up. It might happen when you turn over during the night. I would not worry about it. He will get over it eventually.

My turtle goes absolutely crazy every morning when I turn on the lights. Swimming as hard as he can toward me against the glass, violently punching innocent fishies in the face! lol

its cuz you have him on that mornign schedual my rats do it...

When I wake up in the morning and my 30 rats have eaten all there food in like 10 min like they always do, they get ALLLL Crazy when they see me walk into the front room. they all start jumping all over the place on there boxes and stuff and right when i throw the food in there they all run to that side, get a piece, then run off to hide and eat lol its pretty funny
