Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I found a baby Midland painted turtle a few months ago and have kept him in his own tank ever since. I have two older painteds(8 yrs. old) and they try eating the baby one (1 inch). I cant find turtles or buy them in my area(only buy big pond turtles) :( so i ordered a baby mississippi map turtle and a baby red ear slider off a website. They will both be 1 inch and so will my baby painted turtle. When I get my new two turtles, what should I do with them first?(quarantine, wash, etc...) and should those 3 turtles get along together in the same tank? I'v read that if you get multiple turtles to introduce them when they are babies?
Any help is greatly appreciated. :D

Complicated situation. I'm not too familiar with the Map turtles, but for turtles in general, they make be okay together if they are the same size while they are babies. There is no guarantee that they will stay ok together! YOU MUST BE PREPARED TO SEPARATE THEM WHEN THEY ARE OLDER SHOULD THERE BE SIGNS OF AGGRESSION! Proceed carefully, dear turtle owner

they should get along fine. as long as they are the same size and they have multiple basking platforms if they need to get away they should be okay. first rule of advice watch them closely to see if there is aggression and if there is and it is not too terribly bad, they are just establishing who's the boss. if they are friendly and nothing happens or they play turtle jenga at day two you are okay. if they are aggressive then you would need to seperate them.

Quarantine should be 2-3 months.
