General Care Discussion

So i'm getting a spotted gar, its about 6 inches long, and my turtle is about 3.5-3.6 inches big. And i was wondering if they would get along. The gar cost me a bomb, so i just want to make sure before i end up wasting my cash

Any suggestions?
I have a 55 gallon already set up for the gar, but if the turtle can live with the gar, i can transfer him form his 20 gallon to a 55 gallon

Keep in mind that anything in the tank has a chance of being eaten. It's usually a matter of when, not if.

I don't know too much about gar, but I'm almost 100% sure its going to outgrow that 55 pretty fast. I mean, they do get 20-30 inches.

@ Steve, the turtle seems to be afraid of the gar fish. He became rather nervous even after i returned him to his tank

@Linus, the 55 gallon is a grow-out tank. i have a backyard pond holding monster fishes, but the gar is too small, and might get eatedn :lol:

Well, guess my turtle will have to wait awhile to get his upgrade. Planning on getting a 70 gallon for him this Christmas

^I would greatly like to see some pics of that pond. I've heard Singapore is the #1 place for tropical fish keepers.
