Hi! I just bought a baby Cooter from the pet store (with a Map Turtle). Its not moving at all and it looks like its dying  . It just stayes on the rock all the time. Ive only had it for about 5 hours now and i dun want my turtle 2 die ='-(. Its eyes dont look normal but there not swollen (they look like theyve been pushed back or up a little bit). When you hold it, its head sags down and it just sits there. and when i put it in the water it jus floated there until i put it on the rock. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!!

*Oh And I need some ideas on turtle names!!!! lol

Bump the water temp up to 80 or 82. Bump the basking temp up to about 90. Keep him separated from the other turtle. Then call your vet first thing in the morning. Good luck.

How is the baby Cooter doing? (Did he behave like this in the pet store when you chose him?)

Oh my mom just told me she bought from the guy who sells them on the road... :x I got 2 turtles from that guy and both of them were injured. My Male Res is missing 2 fingers =-0 and then this 1 looks sick >=-( My mom says he was acting like a regular turtle when she saw him first. Now he floats rear up in the water and wiggles a little bit to swim. Other than that, he just sits on the his rock all day. It looks like he has an infection in his eye because there is a little white spot around his eyelid. (sorry about the poor details. the babies are locked in my mom's room and i dont get to see them often  )He looks like he lost his best freind... =-(. He's ok now i guess. He swims a little bit after bumping the temp a lil bit =-). Thnx 4 Your Help!

Why are they locked in your mother's room? Is she doing anything to make the cooter better in addition to increasing the heat?

They are locked in my mother's room because she has a lock on her door and she has it closed everyday from 8 a.m to 6 p.m. She can't take care of the turtles properly so i bug her everyday about getting a bigger tank, and adding more water. I made her make the basking area a little warmer, and i took the cooter out and put it in another 10 gallon tank. Now it spread to my Map turtle (I think its a map)!!!! I put them both in this "medicated water" stuff. Im going to take them out soon and see what happens. My mom works for a pool and spa company so maybe she could get a little Pond made for them =-).
Thnx For The Help
