General Care Discussion :: Do turtles have to be in water to poop?

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

My two turtles are eight years old. I am dry docking one of them so a wound can heal. I read that I should put her in water for an hour a day so she can "eat, drink, and poop."
When I put her in water, I'm not putting her back in the tank with the other turtle, because the other turtle has been attacking her, and that's why she has the wound. I put her in the bathtub for an hour, instead.
Today is the second day I've done this. She eats fine when she is in the water, but she has not pooped either yesterday or today. Is her hour in the water her only chance to poop? I don't see any poop where I am keeping her dry, either.
I'm wondering if I'm supposed to be leaving her in the water longer so she can poop, or if I should assume that if she doesn't go in the hour, she doesn't have to. Or whether she can go when she is out of the water.
Does anyone know the answer to this? I would really appreciate it. Thanks very much.

Turtles can definitely poop outside of the water. I get poop on their basking area every once in and awhile. Also when i have have to dry dock a turtle they will poop for me in the area i have them in. So look for dried up poop in the area you have her in too. She might have went in there.
