Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Hi,

I have 2 red ear slider turtles and they have outgrown my 45 gallon rubber maid tank so I need to get something larger. I would really appreciate ideas. I want to give the turtles as much room to swim as possible and am wondering how large a basking space they need because the basking space I have is too small as well. I want to give them a deeper container to swim as well so your suggestions would be much appreciated. In the last 9-10 months they have each added about 2 inches in diameter so I want the next tank to be large enough to handle additional growth.

Thanks. I would also like to express Speedy and Racer's gratitude for a better living situation.

Before any upgrade is planned, it would be helpful to know if you have males or females. Males can become aggressive to other males and females, so future separation might be a requirement.
