My two reds check their shells and tell me what you think, I'm concerned because they only eat protein, dry insect meddly mostly, they are only 2 years old so is it still OK that they eat mostly protein still?

At 2 years old they should be on vegetables and off a main protein diet. Its not really about age but about size. Once they reach 3-4inches thats when you cut back and judging by their size they are at that point. As for their shells it looks like they might have retained scutes. Lighting isnt the greatest in the pictures, the second turtle looks like he might have a fungus on his shell or its either air pockects maybe.

They are both shedding, is that what you meant by retaining schutes? That they aren't shedding, because both are, as for veggies any tips on what to start them on? I've tried fruit and veggies before and they wouldn't take
