General Care Discussion :: can they survive outside water ?

hi i m from india , n i have a 3-4cm long res baby turtle. i jus wanted to ask for how long can they remain outiside water ? at night is it suitable to make them sleep outside water ?

They are aquatic turtles and should be kept in water with a basking area. They can be docked out of water for several hours, though that should be done when necessary.

My turtle escaped her tank within the house for 11 days and showed up in front her tank. My mom threw her back in the tank (we were away on vacation)' the first thing she did was to catch 2 feeder fish and swallowed them. That was a few years back, we thought we lost her coz we couldn't fine her any where. She didn't have access to water and food for 11 days, yet was perfectly active and healthy. I suppose res know how to survive for quite long.
