I have had my rescued turtle Milo for a week now and she still has not pooped.

She is feeding well but no poops.

Anything I should be worried about?

You might not be seeing it. It can break apart or hard to see (especially if you have substrate) and they'll often eat it.

I'm new to this forum as well, though I used it quite a bit when setting my turtles up. About the eating poop thing... One of my turtles seems to enjoy the other one's, you know... I've gotten so worried about it that I actually fish out the poop with a disposable spoon before he can get to it! But maybe this is... normal?

I think at some point, most RES will go after poop... some more than others. I also try to get it out ASAP since it causes such a mess.

I have never fished poop out, I figure if he doesn't eat it (recycle), the filter will get it (again, recycle using bacteria). I can't wait to see the inside of my filter. I'm thinking of waiting until the end of August before I clean the filter. That'll be 1 year of no maintenance/cleaning on the FX5. Should be interesting, I'll post a thread with pics.

One thing you can always try with animals like turtles, snakes, frogs, and almost most reptile and shelled animal is get a bucket or bin and put semi warm water in the bin or bucket, not hot but barly warm to the touch, and the warm water will usually make them poop. its a trick to get reptiles mostly snakes and toads/frogs to pass a large meal if there having trouble on there own or look like they need a bit of help. It works with turtles all in all tho and its a very helpful way to make sure your not going to run into any sort of digestion problem like constipation.

Also, turtles in them self have a very slow..VERY SLOW..digestion system and they can hold a meal for a week or more while digesting. they have a slow metabolism and it takes them a while to pass food so that is one reason they say to feed once every 2 or 3 days and not Daily for most turtles. and as steve said, turtles will eat anything..rocks, Marbles, Plastic, Foam, bugs, fish, Fingers...just about anything they can fit into there mouth that they think can be eaten. Sort of like a monitor for any lizard owners out there (lol). including there own poop..for some reason they just cant stand seeing there own crap floating at the bottom of the tank for more then a half second without cleaning up there own mess lol...now just if i could get the kids to clean up there mess....

if turtles poop with warm water, could it be the reason why my turt usually poops after I changed his water. I figured the water I put in is warmer than what was originally taken out of the tank. Just thinking
