General Care Discussion :: red eye glisten on a turtle's eye?

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Post Posted: Sun Aug 12, 2012 6:56 am   red eye glisten on a turtle's eye?

There is a glistering layer of reddish color on one of my turtle's eyes. What's causing this? It have been three weeks I think and it's afraid of me when I am around. Everytime I will come approach the tank with different ways so this little fellow can feel sound when I arrive, but it keeps hiding and hasten to escape under the water.

I see his eyes have this slight red glistening color when a UV light hits it.

Just now I just it pushed his fellow turtles off the turtle dock. Such a slick turtle!

What kind of UV light is it? Did you have a burn in period?
