Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I had to separate my turtles because one was picking on the other. Now the one that was getting picked on seems depressed. Is it possible that she has separation anxiety? I thought that turtles were solitary and did not need others. Any advice would be great.

What makes you think the turtle might be depressed? Maybe turtle is just finally acting calm because the other one isnt there. Turtles shouldnt need a companion like you said.

When I separated my two, both were a lot calmer like DB4L said. Trust me, they don't miss each other and the aggressor will instantly try to attack if he sees my other RES.

She has not eaten since I moved her and she hides in the corner. No basking, nothing. So I guess its just a new environment that has her scared.

I am going to offer her fish tonight. I also have food with worms and stuff in it but that has not tempted her at all. Well she scarfed down the fish so..... I guess time will take care of everything. Thanks for your input appreciate it!
