What can I do? He's about a year old

His shell looks pretty healthy to me. I don't see any retained scutes. My turtle is about 2 years-old and I've had him a year. He has yet to shed scutes, but his shell is in great shape and he isn't retaining any. I think they shed when they need to. Blueberries and cuttlebone can help with the shell, but both should be used in moderation.

No sign its time to shed yet. Though i do see your turtle has the start of shell fungus on it. The white fuzzy areas along the edge and creeping towards the center of the shell is fungus. You wanna take care of that before it spreads further. You wanna dry dock him every day for a couple hours and apply Betadine or Hibiclens to the area to help.
